When activists on the left ignore human rights abuses by those they favor, they demonstrate that "solidarity" and political correctness trump ethical correctness. When those who espouse pacifism and become allies and apologists for tyrants and warmongers, they cease to be pacifists in any meaningful sense of the word. Their fingers are on the trigger no less than the various "national liberation groups" of whom they are enamored. Lenin called these people "useful idiots," but I think they know just what they are doing.
Similarly, there are those on the right who would have us believe that they champion democracy and freedom, but turn a blind eye, if not a helping hand, to autocrats and tyrants when they deem it to be in the national interest.
When those with a political agenda, right or left, hijack the sacred agenda of human rights for partisan purposes, they desecrate the Divine image in each of us.
Neither the right nor the left have a monopoly of righteousness-nor on ethical hypocrisy.
