It is hard for me to accept that this is a dispassionate political/ethical decision devoid of theological and social antisemitism. But in any event, it smells of triumphalism and the completely undeserved assumption of their own righteous superiority.
I extend a blessing to the UCC. I pray that they never have to stand in our shoes. I pray that they never suffer the persecution we have suffered, nor find themselves surrounded by enemies demanding their extinction. I pray that they not be judged by by sanctimonious foreigners who are all too willing to take the low road of cheap grace of political correctness to bolster a dying denomination. Passing resolutions is easy. It might make people feel good and righteous, but in doing so, the UCC has sacrificed any real chance being an honest broker to promote peace. Like the Quakers, the Presbyterian Church USA, have chosen sides. In doing so, they have become apologists for those who explicitly have called for our destruction not just in Israel, but everywhere.
