Netanyahu took 23.4% of the vote. Although that is termed a "landslide" by Israeli standards, it still means 76.6% voted for other parties. I post this to counter the contemptible absurdity that those who are critical of Netanyahu are somehow anti-Israel. That is a sort of Jewish McCarthyism and is totally unacceptable. The PM is the voice of Israel and should be respected as such. That hardly means that every policy or statement issued is sacrosanct.
I composed the above with something in mind. Somebody on a pro Israel list accused the RA of "self hatred" for condemning Bibi's statement about Israeli Arab voters. Some of us support that statement and others condemned it. Be that as it may, I'm sure all of us would agree that the statement, mistaken or not, wasn't "self hatred." If one stoops to that sort of abusive rhetoric, one might counter that a person who disregards 76.6% of the Israeli electorate and shows contempt for 1/3 of US Jews is the one guilty of self hatred.
We in the pro Israel camp would do well to be generous with one another. Our enemy aren't other supporters of Israel, even those with whom we have disagreements. Our enemy is Iran. Please, focus.
